Have you ever deleted a file or folder from the desktop and emptied the trash only to realize seconds later that you delete the wrong? Or have you ever edited a document, saved it, and then wanted to undo those changes?
Fortunately, both Windows Vista and Windows 7 includes a built-in feature called Shadow Copy that can solve this exact problem without you having to do anything. When you work with files, the Shadow Copy automatically save incremental backups of your files in the background so if you accidentally delete or modify a file, you can return to the previous version with a simple right click.
The Shadow Copy feature in all versions of Windows 7, but only in Business and Ultimate to Vista. But if your computer is running Vista Home Basic or Home Premium editions, you can still enjoy Shadow Copy function without upgrading your operating system.
The feature can also come in handy if the document becomes corrupted or if you want to get back the files that were deleted by a virus.
