Twitter has tied up with Airtel in India to bring Twitter via SMS.  For those who doesn't know anything about twitter... Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets.

Finally Twitter is available in India on SMS only on the Airtel network. There is exclusive period, in which only Airtel consumers will be able to use the service on SMS across the nation.

So how to use twitter in India via SMS?

If you are a new Twitter User..

• You can send an SMS "Signup" to 53000 which will cost you Re 1 per SMS
• Once you sent the SMS, just follow instructions to go ahead and complete the registration

If you are already using Twitter and would like to link your mobile (only for Airtel customers though)

• You can send an SMS "Signup" to 53000 which will cost you Re 1 per SMS
• Follow instructions to complete linking your Airtel phone to your Twitter A/c
