Last week, SeventyMM launched SMS feature where users can rent a movie and get it in just one day. Now Reliance's BigFlix launched the BIGFlix Smart Client and the BIGFlix WAP Site. Subscribers can now borrow and return their favorite DVDs while on-the-move through their handhelds by using the BIGFlix Mobile Smart Client or the BIGFlix WAP site.

You can the BIGFlix Smart Client application to your handheld devices by sending an SMS "BIGFLIX" to 55454. BIGFlix will send an SMS reply containing an active link "http://mobile.bigflix.com". You have to simply click on this link to commence the downloading of the application. Once installed, follow the step-by-step on-screen installation instructions. Once it is complete, BIGFlix Smart Client is ready to use.

Alternatively you can choose to download this app by entering their mobile phone number at the following page on the BIGFlix website, http://mobile.bigflix.com.You will be prompted to download the application. Follow the instructions from there on.

If you don't want to install the client, you can also visit the BigFlix WAP site http://m.bigflix.com. I have been trying to visit the WAP site for last 5 mintues and I get the request timeout messages. Looks like the WAP site is not ready for the primetime yet...
