Anti-virus software is a must have for any windows machine. Many of you might have used or been using Norton or McAfee Anti virus. I personally don't like any of those two and I have had issues with 'em in the past so I uninstalled 'em and now I am using one of the best free anti virus AVG. I am really happy with AVG and my computers are secured (even after Conficker attack).
Now there is another free anti virus that does its job in the clouds.
Panda Security has launched a new product called Cloud Antivirus which is light weight and keeps your computer secured using cloud computing. Panda Cloud Antivirus is for Windows XP and Windows Vista, with planned support for Windows 7 when it's released
CloudAntivirus is a small application that you have to install on your windows machine. Once installed, it protects your computer using Collective Intelligence technology. It takes advantage of "millions of users," according to Panda, to identify new malware almost in real time. Panda says that Collective Intelligence can classify new malware in under six minutes, and that it handles more than 50,000 new samples per day.
Many testers reported slowness in using Panda Cloud Antivirus and now Panda Security provided a solution for that too. You can now disable Logging to make the cloud anti virus run faster.
Its pretty cool to see how cloud computing is going to the next level.
