Sify launched its VOIP service under the brand name Sify Way2Talk. Way2Talk or SifyTalk was basically a pre-paid calling card service which can be used to make cheap calls to USA, UK, Canada and many other countries. You would download the SifyTalk dialer and using your calling card, you can make international calls for cheap rates.

The site used to be SifyTalk.com but looks like that domain is now not a part of Sify Corp. SifyTalk has taken a new name and website.. SifyTalk.in. SifyTalk now provides one voice device which costs about Rs. 1,599 + Tax. Once you buy this device, you can pay Rs. 499/month and can call to countries like USA, Canada, Australia, UK etc.

What is different now with SifyTalk?

Once you pay your monthly Rs. 499, you can make unlimited calls to one number in US, UK (LL) or Canada. In addition to the unlimited calling to one number in US, UK (LL) or Canada, the subscribe will also get Rs.300 worth calling to other international numbers. You can also request to change the "Unlimited Call" number after 30 days.

SifyTalk is available in all the major cities of India. I think this will give a boost in Indian VoIP and a tough competition to MTNL Pigeon VoIP which is available only in Mumbai and Delhi.
