I know lot of people complain about their cellphone signals and poor coverage in their homes. You get your calls dropped everyday and the mobile download speeds slows down. So what do you do to overcome this problem? Most of the people try to switch their mobile operator to get better cellphone coverage.

A small San Diego company, Nextivity has developed an easy to install device that boosts wireless coverage inside buildings. The device is called Cel-Fi. Cel-Fi takes coverage from where you have it and provides it throughout your entire home.

Nextivity is working with 28 cell phone carriers worldwide. The company envisions that the wireless companies would provide the devices free to subscribers.

I am a perfect candidate for this device right now. We just moved to a new house and we are not getting good signal here. I think this device would be a big help for people like me.

Updates:

I sent an email to Nextivity for the availibility of Nextivity Cel-Fi. I got reply from George Lamb. Here is what his email says:

Hello,Thank you for your inquiry.Unfortunately, our product will not be available until early next year. At this time we are talking to or trialing with carriers around the world.Once the smart repeater system is on the market, it will be available through your wireless carrier.

So if Nextivity is working  with wireless carriers, we should be getting this device for free as it is wireless carrier's responsiblity to make sure their customers get proper signal strength.

I love this idea. Where we live in the mountains, it is hard to get a signal. Maybe this will help.
