Finally, the iPhone Knock Off, first Google Android based touch phone T-Mobile G1 was unvailed in New York yesterday.
Google Android will have one touch Google Search. T-mobile G1 which is based on Google Android will have a virtual view of your location with street names and directions right on your fingertips. T-mobile G1 will have applications, web browsing and much more within few flips.
Unlike apple iPhone, T-mobile G1 will have full QWERTY Keyboard. You can slide open the screen to reveal the full-sized keyboard which lets you type messages in a snap.
The phone will have bluetooth, Wi-FI and everything that one can dream for their smartphone. A memory expansion card slot. A removable battery. Voice dialing.
The downside is that you can not play videos except youtube. But the good thing is, Android and G1 are open. That means wait for few months after the phone release and open source community will develope thousands of applications that will allow G1 users to play videos from any source. The App store is completely open. T-Mobile and Google say they won’t censor programs that they don’t approve of.
The phone will be available for $179.99 (plus taxes and fees; two-year agreement required). Don't rely on 3G network though.. because T-mobile's 3G coverage is not as good as AT&T. This can be a good buy if you want to use Wi-Fi or if you are living in one of those T-Mobile 3G coverage.
I think the term "Open" makes T-Mobile G1 superior than Apple iPhone. Check out the video below..
