So to repeat the history, now we are going back to postcards and greeting cards from e-greeting cards. A website called Papam.in in India has launched a service which will let you send a greeting card to your loved ones no matter where you are physically. You can send a Greeting Card, an Invitation Card or any other quality printed card to anyone and anywhere in India, from anywhere in the world.
The service is not free though. You pay for the greeting card. The shipping for anywhere in India is free. Good thing about this site is that you get to choose from a huge gallery of cards while sitting in your office or at home. You don't have to go to those greeting cards shops. The only downside here is that you have to remember the occasion and preplan your order so that it can reach on time.
This reminds me of another service by HippoPost that lets you send free postcards to anyone in USA and Canada. HippoPost has developed an application for facebook users so that you can customize your own pictures and send it to your friends/family who lives in USA or Canada. HippoPost offers this service free because on the back of the postcard, it will print an advertise which can be choosen by the sender according to the recipient's interests.
So if Papam can workout something similar, it can subsidise the card charges. If that works out, Papam can be a big hit.
