An idea can make forture and can also bankrupt you. I have seen lot of sites and thought "Why didn't I think about this?". SomethingStore.com is one of them. SomethingStore.com launched back in October 2007 and within 6-8 months it got media and web coverage and the idea is big hit.

What is SomethingStore.com? Its a store where you place an order for something, you don't know what it is until you receive it at your doorsteps. Its a store to buy something for just $10 and get surprise for yourself. The item can be a digital camera, USB drive, clock, coffee machine or any other product that can make your day.

The site has a "Something Tracker" where you can see what's that something that went to someone. The site has sold thousands of items so far. It got lot of publicity via Digg, Gizmodo and other "BIG" bloggers so they are doing good business.

I wonder how they are keeping the order cost to $10 (that includes shipping)? The items I have seen on the Something Tracker would probably cost them more than $10 for sure. On top of that they have to pay their employees + Shipping/handling cost..?? I am sure they must have good business strategy but still its surprising to me!!
