I just came across this website where you can compare any product/any size with the standard objects or provide your own dimension and compare it. The site is developed by HumbleFrog, a Cambridge UK based company offering contemporary web design and development who are specialists in Ruby on Rails.
The site is Sizeasy.com which allows you to compare dimensions of items you find described on the web often. Many online stores show the dimensions of items like Product Dimensions: 192 x 45 x 32mm. Although useful this doesn't give us a feel for the real size of the item that we would get going into a high street store. Sizeasy allows you to take this size information and see it drawn out to scale next to everyday items so you get a real feel for its size.
You can create your own comparisions and if you would like, you can save it and share it with your friends. Each comparison that is saved on Sizeeasy is given a unique URL that can be shared. The comparison is shown in different 2D and 3D perspectives.
Check it out, its pretty cool.
