Nokia is pushing two budget phones in India. Nokia has announced today that it will sell two budget mobile phone models, Nokia 100 and Nokia 101 in India, knowing very well the demand of the users in the Indian market. These two new additions in the Indian market are focused at consolidating and strengthening the Company’s position in the low-cost budget cell phone markets.

All has not been well with Nokia this year. This move has come when Nokia shares have dropped by half this year as the Company has struggled hard to keep up with the challenges of the smartphone development. It has also lost ground at the cheaper end of the market to Asian brands such as the ZTE and G’Five.

Nokia 100 has a slot for a SIM card. It has got FM radio and a colour display. It will be priced in the Indian market at Rs. 1,399.

Nokia 101 is a dual SIM music phone. It also has an integrated MP3 player, a 103 phone loudspeaker, FM radio and a 16 GB expandable memory. The phone has been manufactured in both red and black colours. Nokia 101 may be highly successful in its aspiration of becoming the cheapest dual SIM feature phone in the world. Besides offering dual SIM functionality, the handset will also provide an unusual dual SIM feature in a unique SIM manager that will store the settings of up to five SIM cards. It is priced at Rs.1,799.

Both these phones will be available in the next few weeks in India.
