The only thing missing in Facebook right now is the Video Calling feature. Facebook launched Facebook Chat feature couple of years back but the plans for lauching facebook video calling feature is unknown for now. So here is a neat solution to have video calls on Facebook.
Meet SocialEyes, a startup that allows you and your facebook friends to have video calls. Not just one to one video calls but one to many video calls. Like Facebook Video conference.
You can visit SocialEyes and then connect to the site using your Facbeook account (using Facebook Connect). Once you are connected to SocialEyes, you can then invite your facebook/twitter friends by sending a message on your social media account. Once you have list of friends joined you on SocialEyes, you can start making facebook video calls.
In SocialEyes, you get, by default, a six-pane video chat window. The upper-left pane is you. The other five panes are the people you connected to by video. From the six-pane window, you can talk to anyone or any collection of people at once, mute individuals or groups, or record messages to send out.
Video connections are point-to-point, using capabilities built in to Flash 10. Flash video makes this app technologically feasible; it probably wouldn't be if SocialEyes had to process each video stream. So your friends on facebook doesn't need to install any softwares on their computers. Just simply connect to SocialEyes and start making video calls on facebook.
You can also send video messages to your facebook friends using SocialEyes. I am pretty sure it would be fun to try out this website for video calls on facebook.
