I just stumbled upon {ln:nw:http://whathowhat.blogspot.com/2007/09/new-railway-web-site-erailin.html} this blog and found out about a really useful website for Indian trains. The site basically provides really easy to use features and is very intuitive. The site is called eRail.in. The site slogan is "Better way to search trains", which is true when you look at this website.

The site provides list of stations you can choose for your journey. Once you select the To and From stations, the site will list all the available trains for that route with all the details about those trains. for e.g. ticket availablity, days of operation, arrival-departure timings etc. Once yous elect the train that you are interested in, the site will bring further details about its route listing the stations that are covered under that route with its arrival and departure information. Though the online ticket booking is not available through that site, a link to ticket booking is available from the site.

Sometimes things make me believe that we are going full circle. I would have never thought about bartering in current age. Barter is a type of trade that doesn't use any medium of exchange, in which goods or services are exchanged for other goods and/or services. It can be bilateral or multilateral as trade.

But guess what? Just found out a new website called GiveNTake.in, the Web's premier free, full-service bartering site. Basically you can sell your service or product in return of a service or a product. You can also make or receive cash offer if you would like. The website is totally free and doesn't charge anything.

Looking for a Driver or a Maid? Check out BabaJob.com & BabaLife.com

I don't know how I missed this two websites launch. I was just reading

{ln:nw:http://http://www.rediff.com/money/2007/oct/04online.htm 'rediff news} and found out about these two new cool sites. Cool because this sites focus on the informal sector workers like maids, drivers, house keepers, gardeners, watch guards etc. The company is founded by two former Microsoft employees and their friend. Sean Blagsvedit (CEO of BabaJob Service Ltd), Ira Weise (Managing Director of BabaJob) and Vibhore Goyal (Chief Technologist, BabaJob). Surprising thing is that Sean and Vibhore designed and coded the site themselves. The site is hosted by Reliace Communications.

But the concept here is noble I would say. Those who work as a driver, maid or watchman, don't know how to market themselves. All their business comes from word of mouth, basically their own offline social network. That sometime becomes their limitation and its possible that they might have to sit at home without work for few weeks or months.

Have you ever found the need to take notes while you are on the go? Something that you remember while you are travelling (all you have is your mobile phone) and you need to jot it down and access it from anywhere. Your phone might have Notes or Tasks option but what if you left your phone somewhere and need those notes? Well here is the solution for you.

A new startup called nPad.com has come up with the solution to this problem. You can visit nPad.com and have a fast sign up (it takes only few seconds to register. I just did). Now if you have your mobile with you and if it has GPRS, you can point your browser to www.npad.com/m/, login to the site and bam!! You have access to all your notes. You can create one, save it, delete it etc. etc. from within your mobile.

Ofcourse anything doesn't literally means anything. Anything here in this article means files, SMS, pictures etc. I was reading about this new Indian mobile startup that allows you to send any document (doc, xls, ppt, jpeg etc) from your PC to your GPRS enabled mobile phone. The company is Rarefind Engineering Innovations, founded by Ajay Rajasekhar.

The website called {ln:nw:http://www.mocodile.com 'MocoDile} was showcased in Proto II back in July 2007 in India. It certainly looks promising. It works based on a simple application. You download a small piece of software (which is available for free - so far) on your computer, this application installs plugin to your browser and a virtual printer on your machine.

Today I found out about 90DI.com - Ninety Digree, a new travel search engine which basically combines airfare + trains fare search. Its founded by three guys Khushnood Naqvi, Kiran M.S and Abhinit Kumar.

The goal of this site is to provide travel information in India easily and effectively. As I said, the site combines the airfare search and railway fare search for the selected routes. So if you select Mumbai to Delhi, the site will list train fares for Mumbai to Delhi, airfare from Mumbai to Delhi and combination of two.

Once you find the route which includes train journey, you can see the list of stations that you will be visiting on a graphical map of India.
