A smart phone has the capability to act as an intelligent device apart from his basic features through various applications. It has the facility to enhance the features through apps like the device to act as a DSLR remote controller.
Though this is not a brand new idea, however till date such applications were not available in the market for the Android devices or smart phones. This new Android application is still in his development stage, but it is available in the market and one can download it from the Android Market. This new application has been priced at US$8.51.
The application is right now working with the USB-on-the-go-enables device only and also with Canon EOS DSLRs. The support of a laptop or a computer is not needed for this application to function.
The developer nick named "Chainfire" has scrutinized the app with the Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone and Motorola Xoom tablet, as well as the Canon EOS 550D, 50D, 7D, 5D mk II, 1D mk IV cameras.
This new DSLR's features has an unique feature that transmits live view from the camera at around 15fps. The off screen controls features the facility for shutter control, aperture, white balance, ISP speed, focus, exposure compensation and zoom control. These features will be available depending upon the camera mode which is currently set to.
You can operate all these features using a single tap from you finger onto the screen.As per Chainfire, couple of more features like the timelapse, image review, video support, transfer and timelapse will be added in future.
