All the early adopters who were watching the opening of the `Build’ Developers’ Conference of Microsoft at Anaheim, California with bated breath should now get ready for the first taste of Windows 8. Microsoft is sharing a Pre-Beta Milestone 3 (M3) release of the next major version of Windows.

Microsoft is offering testers a Windows developer preview. Windows 8 developer preview Build 8102.winmain_win8m3.110830-1739 was compiled on 30^th August 2011 about a fortnight ago and it still belongs to the Milestone 3 stage of the development process. A lot of work has already gone into building Windows 8 including internal installs that may be ranging around two million with around nine million tests.

Windows 8 will deliver the same full personal computer experience even if it is running on tablets or slates or traditional computers and additional next generation form factors. Windows 8 comes with Internet Explorer 10, a new Metro platform for applications and its own Windows store. There are hundreds of new features in windows 8 waiting to be explored. Early adopters will have a field day downloading Windows 8 Developer Preview Build 8102 M3 when they start testing. This is going to start from 2000 hours Seattle time tonight.

It will be available via the Windows Dev Center. Microsoft has also been letting out a few details about Windows 8 through its new blog including a faster boot time, a user interface optimized for touch and an App store.
