Today, Mozila released its latest Firefox version. Firefox 5. Firefox 5 is currently in Beta and the current version is available as a RC1 (Release Candidate). So this is not the final version of Firefox 5 but will be close to what you will get in the end.

Firefox 5 improves support for "future-Web" technology, speeds up the browser, and makes multiple smaller tweaks to the browser. Firefox 5 can be downloaded from mozilla's Beta channel. Some of the features of Firefox 5 are:

• Added support for CSS animations
• The Do-Not-Track header preference has been moved to increase discoverability
• Improved canvas, JavaScript, memory, and networking performance
• Improved standards support for HTML5, XHR, MathML, SMIL, and canvas
• Improved spell checking for some locales
• Improved desktop environment integration for Linux users
• WebGL content can no longer load cross-domain textures
• Background tabs have setTimeout and setInterval clamped to 1000ms to improve performance
• The Firefox development channel switcher introduced in previous Firefox Beta updates has been removed

You can download for Windows | Mac | Linux from here. Both the version of Firefox 5 (desktop and mobile) include user tracking opt-outs using the DNT header and location tracking opt-outs. This gives the user a lot of control over what information he shares with websites.

Android Mobile users will need to manually download Firefox Beta from the Android Market in order to join the beta development channel.
