Gizmo5 who built the SIPphone VoIP platform has changed the way people use VoIP. Gizmo which is now renamed to Gizmo5, provides a platform where users can make free computer to computer calls as well as computer to mobile or computer to landline phones. It also can be used to make free mobile to mobile phone using GPRS.

I am going to provide you the details on how to make free calls using Gizmo5. You need to download Gizmo5 on your computer to access its features. 

Once you download the software, run the installation, follow the instruction and finish the installation. You will then have to register yourself to Gizmo5. Now when you are registered with it, you can find out if any of your friends are registered with Gizmo5 or not. If you find them, you can talk to them for free. Its like Skype. But the actual magic is yet to come.

If you want to call someone in USA for free, you can do so using Gizmo5 by using the backdoor dialing. Approximately 11% of US telephones, including mobile numbers and land lines from carriers such as Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc., are connected via VoIP.

So if you want to call a number say 111-222-3333, go to Gizmo5 Backdoor and enter the number you want to call. If the number is available for free calls, you can use your Gizmo5 account to call that number with the prefix '0101'. SO for example, from your Gizmo5 application, you can dial 0101-111-222-3333.

Now comes the next trick to make free mobile to mobile calls using GPRS and VoIP. Gizmo5 provides an application that can be downloaded on your mobile phones too. Once you install Gizmo5 on your mobile, you can use it the way you use it from your PC. You have to have GPRS enabled on your mobile. 

If you are in India, you can use this application to make calls and ask your family/friends in USA to call you using Gizmo. This way you can make calls to USA as well as make free calls to India.
