Employees would rather opt to leave if they knew that they were about to be fired. There are a lot of mixed messages that lead to a termination with the required documentation. The firing is mainly due to a cultural or a personality mismatch.
These are signs to note that help you work on moving ahead for the next opportunity somewhere else.
1. Watch out when you receive a considerable increase in written feedback – The HR and the Legal Departments start a lot of documentation about you so that there is a record. When a feedback routine changes from oral to written, it is time to know that matters may be serious.
2. You will stop getting feedback altogether – After receiving a lot of feedback as a general routine, you suddenly get ignored. Legal Department may advise the company to stop communicating with you as nothing that is said can be used against the company.
3. Expectations for your work disappear – When the accountability level of your job falls down, it is not a good sign if your work load suddenly lessens. It is rare that a company would not like to have your hands full with a job. It may mean that the work is being shifted to others.
These may not always be the signs to develop paranoia but it is safer to be aware. The best option would be to check with your immediate supervisor if your job is in danger.
