A free online game has been launched on Facebook by Shaadi.com, a leading Indian matrimonial site. Shaadi.com will welcome you to play `Angry Brides’ with the motive being that women will give you strength, care and all the love you need but not DOWRY. Shaadi.com has added this game on their Facebook page to bring out the illegal practice of dowry that is still very much prevalent in India.

This game is available on the group’s home page (Facebook.com/shaadicom). The name of the App is inspired by the globally popular game, `Angry Birds’. The home page shows a red-dressed and eight-armed woman who is meant to resemble the Goddess Durga.

Users and players have to hit three dodging grooms to play the game. The Angry Brides have been given a large range of weapons to select from. These weapons include a stiletto shoe, a frying pan, a broomstick, rolling pins and tomatoes. Each groom has a price tag attached to him starting from Rupees Fifteen Lakhs. Every time a player hits a groom, the value of the groom dips down and this value is added to the user’s Anti Dowry Fund.

The App has received a huge response reportedly among the Facebook users. More than two hundred and seventy thousand people have liked the App since Shaadi.Com has launched this game.

The bad boy bridegrooms are being battered in this game against a banned tradition.  For the benefit of all who will be interested in playing this game, the tradition of dowry has been outlawed by the Government of India almost five decades ago.
