Mr. Al Gore, the former Vice President of the United States of America who is also a member of Apple’s board, had spoken few days back that “new iPhones” will be launched in the month of October.
iPhone 5 will have a dual-core processor, an 8 mega-pixel camera and 1 GB RAM. It may do away with the metal and glass frame of iPhone 4 to stay in line with its attempt to slim down its devices with each new release. It is likely to go for a sleeker uniform aluminium shell body. Some analysts are also expecting Apple to knock off the screen size. Apple is likely to provide an economical version of iPhone for developing markets in its attempt to tackle the Android adoption.
There were reports a couple of days back that a feature called `Assistant’ will allow a number of voice-based commands and let the users `talk’ to their phones. A point to note is that Apple has titled its 4th October event, `Let’s talk iPhones’. This is something that hints at the possibility of an `Assistant’.
iPhone 5 will be powered by iOS 5 which will also support iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. This will be Apple’s first media event after the resignation of Steve Jobs as the Chief Executive Officer. The key note address will be delivered by the current CEO of the Company, Tim Cook.
