Shehla Masood, an activist and environmentalist who sat on a fast here recently in support of Anna Hazare's 'India Against Corruption' campaign was found dead in Bhopal.

The reason for the death and the killing of Shehla Masood is still unknown. An unidentified person shot Shehla Masood in front of her house. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Adarsh Katiyar, the motive of the killing remains unknown. A possible cause could be her Right to Information Act, 2005 activities which has till date resulted in 13 other RTI activists to lose their lives
