MUMBAI: Winning the BWA licenses after a tough Competitive process, Qualcomm is ready to sell its licenses and has got indulges in advanced talks with Bharti, ET Now sources said.
1.05 billion has been paid by Qualcomm for these licenses, which has 4 markets – Mumbai, Delhi, Haryana and Kerala. With a premium of 25-30% the Company may sell the licenses with a deal value to $1.2 - 1.3 billion.
For Bharti's own licenses the company had paid a sum of Rs 3,300 crores and it seems is willing to buy the BWA licenses at the premium as could include key circles such as Mumbai and Delhi.
Aircel and Bharti were learned to be interested in taking up Qualcomm licenses, but eventually Aircel withdrew itself from the process because of multiple issues.
Qualcomm has 74% stake of Qualcomm India which BWA licenses is owned. Tulip and GTL will also sell their stake in this company with the remaining 26%.
