I have been seeing reduction in phone call rates across the operators. Looks like we will be seeing a drop in our monthly phone bills. Tata Teleservices under the "Go Life and Go Special" plans has made calls at just 10p/min.

The Tata Go Life Plan and Go Special Plan is running in Tamilnadu Circle where you get validity for life and validity for one year respectively. 10p/min call will be for calls between Tata to Tata phones. The calls to any other network, however, would be charged at 50p/min within the circle and all STD calls at Rs 1.50/ min. 

On the other hand, BSNL has slashed its STD charges by 50%. Under the landline services, STD rates have been reduced from Rs 2.40 to 1.20 paise per minute to all networks in general and 'sulabh' plan.

"The intra-circle call charges, to BSNL network and inter circle (STD) call charges to all the networks, has also been reduced by 50 per cent," BSNL CMD Kuldeep Goyal said.
