Internet penetration is poor in India compared to China, USA and UK but we sure have billions of mobile users. So the next target for the business owners are mobile users.

I recently wrote an article about 10 ways to make payments via mobile. Also recently ICICI Mobile Banking Application From ICICI Bank its iMobile application. Now there is a news that Barclay Bank India and South India Bank are also planning to launch their mobile banking applications.

Barclays launched its mobile banking service called 'Hello Money' for its customers. Customers of Barclays can now do their financial transactions by dialing *598*1#. Upon dialling *598*1#, customers will be guided to the mobile-based menu where they will be able to choose from a number of options and, after they enter the correct Hello Money PIN, they can immediately perform their required transaction on their handsets. The service is available for all GSM handsets on Airtel, Vodafone and Idea networks in 40 cities across the country.

South India Bank also announced the availability of their mobile based transactions services for its customers. The service will allow customers to transfer funds from one account to another account of the bank. It will also allow customers to pay phone and utility bills using their mobile phones. This service will be introduced within the next two months, Dr Joseph said.
