There is no question that the future is about the wireless technology. Bluetooth, Infrared, Wi-fi are the current hot trends for mobile subscribers.

n this race, VSNL has partnered with California based company iPass to integrate about 350 Tata Indicom Wi-Fi hotspots to the iPass Global Broadband Roaming Network. So basically iPass community can benifit from this integration and can use Tata Indicom's wi-fi hotspots for their business needs.

VSNL's hotspot locations include major domestic and international airports, leading premium hotels, educational institutions, sports stadiums, hospitals, restaurant and coffee shop chains. Key locations include Taj Hotels Group, Le Méridien, Café Coffee Day, Barista, Manipal University, and Wockhard as well as more innovative locations such as retail stores and railway stations.

On the other hand, MobMe Wireless Pvt Ltd has rolled out its Blue Zone bluetooth hotspots across the country. A Blue Zone is a specific area where mobile users could just turn on their Bluetooth Functionality on their mobile phone and make it their own Entertainment Zone. Each Blue Zone would have a multi functionality kiosk to which the users can be connected and could download ringtones, wallpapers, games etc.
