Indian government, famous for its "policies" has withdrawn the facility for tax payers to submit income tax returns through post offices. This facility was introduced last year.
The last date for filing income tax returns is July 31 for salaried individuals, self-employed, small enterprises with a turnover of less than Rs 40 lakh (Rs 4 million) and professionals with receipts of less than Rs 10 lakh (Rs 1 million) a year. (Rediff News)
So before filing your income tax returns, please check with your local post office if you can still file your taxes through them or not.
