Milestone XT720 and Backflip
Handsets maker Motorola launched two new Android powered smartphones, Milestone XT720 and Backflip, featuring high definition video experience and Internet capabilities in the Indian market.

Both, Milestone XT720 and Backflip are available in India at select retails outlets in select cities. Milestone XT720 is priced at a Maximum Retail Price of Rs 34,990 (Recommended Retail Price: Rs 27,490) and it comes with an in-box 8GB memory card & HDMI cable for output to HDTV. Backflip is priced at a Maximum Retail Price of Rs 22,990 (Recommended Retail Price: Rs 19,490) and comes with an in-box 2GB memory card.

The XT720 seems to be the more powerful of the duo, sporting a 3.7 inch touchscreen with 480 x 854 resolution, an 8.0 MP shooter with xenon flash and HD video, HDMI connectivity (there’s a cable bundled with the handset) and Android 2.1. The Backflip that seems more innovative, not just because of its reverse-flip design (which hides the QWERTY keyboard), but also because of its Backtrack feature which allows users to navigate on the 3.1 inch touchscreen without touching the screen at all. Its specs are relatively modest – a 5.0 MP camera with LED flash and rather shocking, a really dated version of Android 1.5.

However, its innovative design saw it walk away with the 2010 CNET Best of CES award in the Cell phones and Smartphones category earlier this year.
