Yesterday, the Internet giant Google demonstrated about the new technology at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona.
The demonstrator took a snap of a German Dinner menu with his Google Android powered mobile phone. The application first sends the data to Google’s server and after translation it is sent back to the phone.
Google is not the first company to offer translation of texts from pictures, in other devices it is done by the phone itself. But Google is the first company to use its server for processing information to provide more accurate and faster results.
However, Google did not reveal when the software would be available commercially for use.
