Wireless Gigabit Alliance (WiGig) has released its integrated wireless specification which has a data transfer rate of up to 7 GB / second, which is ten times speeder than the currently used 802.11 Wi-Fi.

This device is perfectly made for wireless home media devices like PC’s mobiles and televisions because it’s backwards compatible expertise will only function over short range.


Dr.Ali Sadri, President and Chairman of WiGig said that they are rapidly paving the way for the introduction of the next generation of high‐performance wireless products – PCs, mobile handsets, TVs and displays, Blu‐ray disc players, digital cameras and many more. The company has steady increase in its membership, which includes Dell, Microsoft, Intel and Samsung.

The WiGig specifications will be available to their members in first quarter of 2010. So, users can enjoy this high speed wireless connectivity in the years to come.
