January is popular for Makar Sankranti (Uttarayan) and for kites and nice tasty food. January is also popular for its Mumbai Marathon. Mumbai Marathon is an international event held annually in January since 2004.

The marathon has different runs e.g. Full Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.097 km), Dream Run (6 km), Senior Citizens' Run (4.3 km) and the Wheelchair Event (2.5 km)

Mumbai Marathon Ambassador is our own Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham. Mumbari marathon 2010 is on January 17th 2010 and the registrations are all done. The entry fees for the Mumbai Marathon starts from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 depending upon your race.
