Currently the Director of Vikram Sabarabhai Space Centre at Thiruvananthapuram, K Radhakrishnan was appointed the new Chairman of ISRO.

K Radhakrishnan said it was a great challenge to head the country’s space agency, considering the high expectations from various quarters. He also said he was privileged to get the post and considered it an honour.

“As a team, in ISRO we need to move ahead. We will do our best to achieve our goals,” Radhakrishnan said.

“Space applications, satellites and launch vehicles are programmes of thrust. Another imporant mission is the human space flight programme,” he said.

    Abhilash s.
    Respected Sir,

I am Abhilash s. ( reg no:20163532 Post no: BE001 Scientist test 2011). This is to bring your kind attention to the fact that ISRO is not following a good criterion o filter the candidates before they are allowed to write examination.

Now ISRO is restricting the number of candidates simply by considering the aggregate marks in the qualifying examination alone. It is known fact that different universities are following different standards in curriculum and valuation systems. Also it is clear that students from some deemed universities had a privilege to score comparatively higher marks easily. Rank holders from some universities might have scored even lesser marks than average marks of some other universities.

Due to presents filtering systems of ISRO many of real talents many of real talents may remain unexploited. So my humble request is to revise the system to a better manner.

    Hi,

I highly respect you as well as I (as being a India's citizen) have so many hopes from you and ISRO.

Yesterday, I saw notice on TOI(Times of India ) mentioning the students who are above 70% in engineering only are shortlisted for the written test for "Annual Recruitment of Scientists/Engineers 'SC' " post.

I highly got disappointed when I saw ISRO changed the criteria which was in advertisement as 65% to 70% just before 15 days for exam.

I want you to please consider some point s-

    1) Various times marks depend of nature of university. In some university 75% marks is normal thing while in other university it may not.

    2) some students don't study for marks. They keep on experimenting and might be because of that they don't give that much efforts to gain marks and results less marks in exams.

In both of these cases , we can find many student who don't have above 70% marks but they can be capable to work in ISRO and eventually for INDIA

My point is - let students allow to give at least written exam. If he/she is not capable to cross it, he/she will automatically come out . Also equal and true filtering will happen (irrespective of university and exam view of students). ISRO can get true talent who deserves that .

I am very disappointed when I saw this scheme of filtration as 65% and 70% doesn't make a large difference to measure student's talent.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Rupali
