Imagine yourself in your house with your friends and family in front of DLP HDTV or LCD HDTV wearing 3D glasses and enjoying 2012 Olympics games!! Does it sound too good to be true? Well it might not be...
Samsung Electronics, Sony, LG Electronics and Panasonic recently showed off their latest versions of 3D TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show. Panasonic set up a mini-home theater where its 103-inch, plasma 3D screen showed clips from New Line Cinema's Journey to the Center of the Earth and Walt Disney Pictures' animated film Bolt.
They also showed high-definition 3D footage from NBC's broadcast of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. While some manufacturers, such as Mitsubishi, Phillips, Samsung, and Sharp, have already begun selling 3D-ready TVs, the top four manufacturers plan to have new, advanced 3D TVs on sale toward the end of 2009 and into 2010.
Texas Instrument is also selling 3D ready DLP HDTVs that can convert your regular TV experience into 3D experience. You can buy the 3D ready DLP HDTV, connect it to your 3D compatible source, plug the transmitter into the HDTV VESA sync port, place your DLP HDTV into 3D mode, put on your 3D glasses and you have your own 3D home theater system.
One of the interesting news is that BBC (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/sep/10/bbc-may-show-2012-olympics-3d) might show 2012 Olympics in 3D. Roger Mosey, the director of the BBC's 2012 Olympics operation, said the corporation was looking at a number of new technologies to improve the spectacle for viewers.
We could, and I believe should, capture some of the games in 3D," Mosey said in a speech to the IBC technology conference in Amsterdam.
So what do you think? Would you buy a real 3D Television?
