Taxi Auto Fares And Train Schedule On Tata Mobile SMS

If you are a Tata Indicom customer and have been commuting daily in Mumbai, you might find this service userful. Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited has launched a value added service for its subscribers in Mumbai. They can now access taxi, auto fares and the local train timetable on their Tata Indicom mobiles via sms.

To avail of this service subscribers simply have to type ‘TAXI’ /‘Auto’ followed by the ‘meter reading’, and send it to 58282 for e.g. ‘TAXI 1.20’, to get the correct day and night fare. For the next available train schedule one has to simply type ‘TRAIN’ followed by the ‘(source & destination)’ and send it to 58282 for e.g. ‘TRAIN Andheri Dadar’.

Each SMS will be charged Rs. 3 though. I wish there were better and free options to get the Taxi fare, auto fares and Train Schedules on the phone.

Hi, These are the mobile softwares to get the Auto Rikshaw and Taxi Fares for Mumbai on your mobile handset (both day and mid-night). Depending on your handset download either jar or jad file or both. For nokia and many other phones it is sufficient to download jar file only. For other handsets download both the jar and jad file. This software shows the new tariff (since 24 June 2010) automatically as you type the meter number on your cell phone. These softwares are free of charge.
