Every car manufacturer is increasing the price of its car models. Recently it was Honda and now it’s Toyota Kirloskar Motor to hit the headlines with price hike. The prices of Corolla Altis from the sedan segment and multi-utility vehicle Innova went high by Rs 50,000 as a result of depreciation of rupee and yen against the US currency and also the increasing input costs. The new prises will be effective from April 1, 2009.
According to Sandeep Singh, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Deputy Managing Director (Marketing), “The company was taking up the burden of high input cost with out affecting he customers. But now due to unavoidable reasons such as recent changes in the rupee/dollar and yen/dollar exchange rate, it has become necessary to revise pricing,"
With the new prices, Innova will be dearer by Rs 10,000-Rs 25,000, whereas Corolla Altis will be costlier by Rs 10,000-Rs 50,000. Carzoo.com
