The BlackBerry pda, a wireless handheld device introduced in 1999 as a two-way pager became most commonly known smartphone which supports push e-mail, mobile telephone, text messaging, internet faxing, web browsing and other wireless information services. Now everyone knows about Blackberry PDA. It is like having a brand name such as colgate. I remember people telling their kids "Did you colgate your teeth?" even though they are using any other brand as their toothpaste. So even if you have any other PDA phone, people will still call it.. your blackberry PDA.
Vodafone after the disastrous launch of iPhone in India, has announced the launch of another high end blackberry PDA phone Blackberry Storm. The so called "iPhone killer" with "clickable" touchscreen smartphone from Blackberry.
'Storm' has been developed by RIM for exclusive distribution through Vodafone globally. Blackberry Storm is priced at Rs. 27,990. Now I am not sure how successful this launch will be. Considering the Satyam scam in India and Department of Telecom's harsh actions against blackberry after the November terrorist attack in Mumbai, it would be interesting to see the Blackberry Storm launch in India.
