Tata after launching its Rs. 1 Lakh Cars Tata Nano, is planning to bring no fuel car called Air Car. Air Car is developed by French company MDI. After more than ten years of researches, MDI has developed mono-energy engines which operate on a totally eco-friendly basis using compressed air stored at high pressure.
Business Standard reports that this car could be launched by Tata in India by 2010-2011. Tata Motors had signed a licensing agreement with MDI for manufacturing the car in India.
MDI has developed several models of the Air Car designed to accommodate two to six passengers. A typical three-seater car, which had been unveiled earlier, is about 2.65 metre in length (smaller than Nano, which is 3.1 metre) and 1.62 metre wide (wider than Nano).
