The 5 Satellites carried by PSLV C-15 are now placed in the orbit and are ready to do their revolving job. India’s Space Ambition was boosted by the success of the PSLV C-15 launch.
This success will be a pain relief for the space researchers after the crash of GSLV D3 which happened 3 months ago. The PSLV C15 embodied 5 satellites, 2 from India and 3 from outside India. The 2 Indian satellites are remote sensing Cartosat 2B satellite and one pico STUDSAT satellite that was built by Karnataka and Andhra college students. The remaining 3 satellites were Algeria’s Alsat and remaining 2 are nano satellites from Switzerland and Canada.
The Caatosat 2B joins the list of Indian remote sensing satellites which are already in service namely Cartosat 2 and Cartosat 2A. The Algeria’s Alsat weighing 116 kg is also a remote sensing satellite. The 2 nano site weighed only 6 kg each, whereas the satellites from the students were only a kg each.
The PSLV is one of the successful satellite carrying rockets in the globe which has placed 22 non-Indian and 17 Indian satellites in the space from its debut on 1994.
