Google has launched its new instant text translation for its Android based Smartphone starting with Nexus One. Language is difference is the biggest hurdle for the travelers going abroad, as the major issue is with reading the written content.
Goggle is based on the computer vision software which looks for the text in the images taken. Goggles V1.1 have good barcode recognition, artwork, logo detection, and also an image search to search for the photos in the phones gallery.
The engine can read and translate text from English, French, Italian, Germany, Spanish and many other languages as well. Google engineers are planning to extend their recognition capabilities to Latin based languages and other non Latin languages like Hindi, Chinese and Arabic.
