Well watch out Microsoft and Yahoo!!. Google has just added another perspective to their mapping solution. Google Street View.
You can see in the image above, its a Time Square, NY. Google has added another "perspective" into its list where one can see the real 3D images of the actual location. The Street View lets you navigate down the streets of big cities like New York, Denver, Miami, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Street View lets users enjoy a 360-degree view of a neighborhood, walk virtually on a street, and see buildings and landmarks. The move is a response to Microsoft’s Virtual Earth, which already has street views in more than 50 cities.
Wired Blog has reported that the data for Google Maps Street View is collected by Google and by geo-imaging company Immersive Media. Google collected all of the Bay Area images itself, but Immersive Media is helping out with the rest of the territory.
Well you might notice that it doesnt work for users outside USA. But someone figured out a way to avoid Google’s IP filter: simply add this string of characters, “&gl=us”, to the end of the URL. Example here.
But its possible that it wont work after it spreads out over the internet. So hurry up and take a look before google disables this "hack".
Hail Google !!
