Bangalore Rental Property on Google Maps

Property prices in India are rising fast, and not just in the biggest cities. As the tech boom spreads across the country, as more Indians buy homes, and as the economy grows at faster than 8% a year, real estate is attracting more investors, many of them from abroad.

Because of this boom, lot of real estate websites are also popping up every day. I was thinking of writing an article about list of real estate websites in India but the moment I started searching for the sites, I was surprised. So many websites with similar words but tweak them to get different domain.

indiaproperty.com, indiaproperties.com, indianground.com, mypropertyindia.com, realestateonline.in are just few to name them.

But among all, www.99acres.com is the biggest one. It is a Naukri.com group company. 99acres.com was launched in August ’05 by Info Edge India Ltd. Since then it has been the fastest growing property portal of India with a growth rate of 400%. It receives Indian and NRI traffic of 50,000 a day that can access over 2 lakhs listings on site.

But I am not writing about property websites here. All these websites are similar. Search for properties by cities, states and stuff like that.

But there is this new website called FindMyGhar.com which started recently (Whois query tells me that the domain was registered in March 2007) is different from all these websites.

The difference is "Properties on the Map". FindMyGhar.com is using Google Map APIs to plot the properties on the map. Currently they only cover Bangalore city. May be in Future they might add more cities.

They have a help page describes how to use the site to find homes in Bangalore, while the FindMyGhar Blog will keep you up to date on changes and features to the site. If you want to rent your house, lease your house or sell your house then you can use this website.

The site looks pretty neat. The only thing that disturbed me was the font size on the website. The font size is too big even for 1152 x 864 resolution. May be they are trying to make it look like the web pages are full as they currently don't have lot of stuff.

Anyways so after doing some more research, I found out two more websites using something similar.

The India Real Estate and The Property Plus are now offering free ads using Google Maps. Looks like both the portals are operated by one group. So there are lot of similarities.

check out the site www.realtyadsmap.com a new google mashup for realty in india. RIght now they appear to have listing for residential rental and sale for chennai.
