iConnectHere Gives Free Calls To USA From India

Looks like giving free calls to USA and Canada is new mantra to attract visitors/users. Many sites now a days provide free calls to USA and Canada. Whether its ooVoo.com or iCall.com. I wish we get something like this for India someday. But thats not going to happen in near future.

iConnectHere, one of the first VoIP provider for PC to phone has today introduced a new offer for Indian users. iConnectHere has launched its new promotional offer where Indians can register to iConnectHere and can make free calls to USA and Canada.

All you need is a PC. The caller just needs to download the iConnectHere soft phone dialer and make free calls to all regular and cellular phones in the USA.

The offer is definitely attractive but the only drawback is that you have to pay $15 initially at the registration time. Once you register they will assign you a userid and will send it to your email address. Also the free calls to USA and Canada offer is only for initial 3 months. After that you will have to pay per minute.

Being a customer of iConnectHere, I am pretty upset about this offer. They should give such offers to their existing customers too. I have been using iConnectHere for almost 3-4 years now. I pay $5.95 every month and get 300 minutes to USA and Canada. During this 3-4 years, I never got such deals that would make me say "Thank you iConnectHere".

I like iConnectHere.com but giving such offers to its new customers is unfair to its existing customers.

You are right. Skype has cheap plans and all but it also requires computer. The setup I have with iConnectHere doesn't require computer. It has a phone with built in dialup modem where you can setup the iConnectHere connection information and once that is done, it is just a matter of plugging you phone into any telephone jack.
