If you are a Time Warner customer, chances are that you may have used Time Warner's iPhone/Android app that lets you watch your television on your mobile device anywhere. Apparently, Viacom and Time Warner had a law suit that settled down and now Time Warner will stop provinding television on mobile. But as an alternative, Time Warner Cable is giving away free Slignbox devices.

So how to get your Slignbox Free from Time Warner cable?

If you are a Time Warner Cable subscriber with $99-a-month Wideband Internet service, Time Warner will give you a rebate for the total cost of the $300 Slingbox device. Slingbox is basically a device that connects to your digitial set topbox and Internet and allows you to record/stream your shows on your mobile devices for free of cost anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection.

The rebate will be available sometime in September. Jeffrey A. Hirsch, the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Time Warner Cable, said the rebate was a promotion for Wideband, which only an undisclosed fraction of its subscribers have. “Over time we’re really trying to emphasize Wideband as a mainstream product,” he said.
