MTNL launched VoIP(Voice Over Internet Protocol) based telephone services which will enable its broadband subscribers to make international long distance calls to US, UK, Canada and Australia @ Rs. 1/min

MTNL fixed line subscriber can get telephone, internet, VoIP phone and IPTV services on a single connection. VoIP services will be provided by Aksh Optifiber Ltd. This service will also be available to PCO holders. This is initially launched on prepaid basis and subscribers can make calls to about 150 countries.

There will be non refundable registration and installation charges of Rs. 500, refundable security deposit of Rs. 1,000 and a quarterly rental of Rs. 243. The prepaid cards will be available for Rs. 100, 500 and 1,000.(Via; The Hindu)
