This Program has been designed by Dell keeping in effort to spread participation and awareness from the consumers of India so as to kindly dispose off their dead laptop batteries, thereby e-waste through entering landfills will be prevented.
The company gives a concession of Rs. 500 for buying a replacement of Lithium ion Dell laptop battery in return. This Discount is given when non-working Li-ion batteries will be returned by the consumers from Dell Studio, Inspiron, Vostro and XPS laptop ranges.
Past Year, “Dell Go Green Challenge” was conducted by Dell that attracted many individuals/consumers to share innovations and ideas for green technology through online videos and photographs. The positive response was received with some 600 ideas submitted by the contestants. Afterwards the product Dell Inspiron was awarded to the top 3 entries.
Dell has made effort towards encouraging consumers to recycle their own PC in India, and has also launched a special discount coupon offer by which consumer's old computers can be sent to Dell for free recycling and getting Rs 1000 discount on the cost of next Dell Computers by redeeming that coupon.
