I am not sure if you have heard the buzz about 0870 number or not. It is a non-geographical numbers (NGNs) in the United Kingdom which, rather than being assigned to a particular telephone line or circuit, provide callers with a contact number which gives no indication of geographical location of the line being called. One can retarget the NGN to any other telephone number including mobile, international and even other NGNs at any time.

So how you can make free international call with 0870 number?

 

1. You can dial the access number 0870 494 52522.
2. Once connected, you will hear the dial tone..at the dial tone, dial the international number you want to call.
3. So for e.g. if you want to dial Mumbai.. you will dial 0091 22 xxxx xxxx. If you want to call other country you can follow the same dialing pattern.. 00<country code> <phone number>

So you have to only pay for the charges for your call to 0870 number and make free International calls including India. But now things will change as BT made 0870 calls free for 14 million of its customers earlier this year, and Ofcom hopes others will follow suit.
