Samsung Launches Galaxy Tab 7 Plus in India

Samsung is trying to refresh its tablet line up in India by launching a 7 Inch Android Honeycomb Tablet , the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus which is also known as GT-P6200. It measures 193.65mmx122.37mmx9.96mm. It weighs 345 grams.

It is powered by 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a seven inch capacitive touch screen with a 1024x600 pixels resolution. It has a three mega pixel camera with 720p video recording and a two mega pixel front facing camera. It has 1GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage memory which is expandable to 32 GB through a micro SD card slot.

The tablet supports Wi-Fi for connectivity, EDGE, accelerometer, gyroscopic sensor, GPS and 3G.  The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus also features Samsung’s Touch Wiz User Interface and comes with Apps like Social Hub, Music Hub and Reader’s Hub. The tablet’s battery lasts up to twenty hours of talk time and forty one hours of standby time.

The distributing retailers for the Tablet are Mahesh Telecom and the online shopping site, They are selling the tablet for Rs.26, 499.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note last year in India in November. The Galaxy Note was a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet. With the Galaxy Note, Samsung had targeted users who wanted both a smartphone and a tablet but did not want to invest in both. The Samsung Galaxy Note ran on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and sported a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED screen. It came with a capacitive stylus called S-Pen. It was powered by a 1.4 GHz dual core processor. There was an eight mega pixel rear camera and a two mega pixel front camera.  The smartphone contained 16GB internal memory that was expandable up to 32 GB with a micro SD card slot.
