Vodafone to launch 3G Android Smartphone

Vodafone is launching 3G Android smartphone for Rs.4, 995. It is an Android operating system handset called `Vodafone Smart’. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor and Android 2.2.1 operating system. The handset is particularly designed for tech savvy customers. The phone will provide them access to mobile Apps, games and social networking platforms and internet on the go.

The smartphone is sure to appeal to a young audience with its smart looks and features and many exciting Apps with 3G connectivity. Vodafone subscribers will also get a special introductory offer of double data benefit on their 3G subscription.

The handset has built in features like 2.8” capacitive touch display, two mega pixel camera, video recording and MP4/3GP playback, up to 32GB expandable memory, 2GB card free, stereo FM and MP3.

Vodafone Essar has also announced the launch of its mobile Wi-Fi device. It is called Vodafone R201 and is priced at Rs. 5, 500. It is a portable Wi-Fi mobile terminal which can be used by five users simultaneously to connect to Vodafone’s 3G network.

It is designed to provide customers with an advantage of connecting and also communicating on the go. It uses a SIM slot to connect to Vodafone’s 3G network and five users can then connect their computers or mobile gaming devices and digital music players to the device over Wi-Fi network to enjoy 3G speeds. The device comes with a battery life of up to four hours and can offer 3G internet services at a download speed of 7.2 megabytes per second on High Speed Downlo
