Back in June 2012, we reported that Hindi version of 24 is coming to India. Well, its coming to reality in summer of 2013. Anil Kapoor a versatile actor from India who is very well recognized by western countries and had a huge role in the Hollywood television series 24 has bought rights to remake it in India.

Colors Television is bringing the show to Indian TV screen.

So what would it be like for Hindi 24?

Well, according to Anil Kapoor, it will be very real and related to the Indian ethos. Indian Jack Bauer (Who will be portraying that role?) is also constantly torn between the family and the country. He comes from an Army background. The show will have Anti-Terrorist cell (unit that fights terrorism) and the show will be shot on real locations in Mumbai.

Mumbai has a history of terrorist attacks including the train bomb attack, Taj Mahal terrorist attack and many more. It would surely be an interesting show to watch on Indian television.

The first season of the Indian version of 24 will be helmed by award winning commercials-turned-film director Abhinay Deo (Delhi Belly). While pre-production has already commenced, the show is eyeing a January shooting date. The show will be penned by leading Bollywood scriptwriter Rensil D'Silva (Rang De Basanti) and supervised by the Colors programming team lead by Manisha Sharma.

Director, Abhinay Deo also said that the casting is going on and the primary cast will be out soon. Now I hope they cast the right people for this big budget television series. If they hit this nail in the head, it can be a game changer for Indian television industry.
