Google today announce the launch of Google Earth 5.0 with loads of new features and ocean and history imagery. Google Earth had oceans as big blue expanse and some low-resolution shading to suggest the depth but now Google Earth includes bathymetric map (the ocean floor).
Now you can drop below the surface of the ocean and explore the ocean in 3D with videos and other information provided by National Geography and other resources.
With Google Earth 5, you can now go back in time and see how a given place looked like. you can now move back and forth in time to reveal imagery from years and even decades past, revealing changes over time.
You can also record your Google Earth travel and create your tours. The Touring feature makes it simple to create an easily sharable, narrated, fly-through tour just by clicking the record button and navigating through your tour destinations.
Check out this video below which shows Google Earth 5.0 features.
