So now India has all those DTH television services like Tata Sky, Dish network, Direct TV etc. India has hundreds of channels available for its viewers. Most of the viewers don't have services like Tata Sky as they normally get their TV connection from a local service providers and so don't get the luxury of having TV guides in their TV boxes. So one can't find out what's playing where.

To solve this problem, now we have few sites that can give you what's playing currently on the TV on different channels. So here I am going to list the sites where you can see the TV guides as well as setup a reminders via email/SMS for your television appetite. 

IndiaTimes TVGuide - IndiaTimes tv guide is probably the first tv guide that was available for Indian televison. You can basically search for the shows based on the channels, categories, dates, languages or timeslots. Its lists tv guide for Zee channels, Star channels, AXN and other around 25-30 channels. You have to select the options from the dropdowns to search the tv guide. You can find the IndiaTimes tvguide at tvguide.indiatimes.com

OneIndia TVGuide - This is another Indian TV guide from OneIndia. OneIndia tv guide is better in user interaction compared to Indiatimes TV guide. You can see what's playing right now on your TV on different channels, you can see what are the shows in prime time, you can also see what movies are playing today on indian televison channels. Also you can see the TV guide based on channels or categories. OneIndia TV guide can be found at http://entertainment.oneindia.in/television/program/now.shtml 

 

ZipaZap.com - ZipaZap is probably the largest interactive online TV guide for India. It shows schedules and program details for over 150 Indian TV Channels. ZipaZap.com shows regional channel's tv guide on top of regular Zees, Stars and Sonys. You can view tv guide in multi-channel grid, single channel list or in Explorer view. If you open up the multichannel grid view, it would automatically show you the current time slots. You can also setup SMS alerts/email reminders on ZipaZap.com. You do have to register to get those personalise experience. 

Burrp TV - Burrp is the latest entrant in the TV guide listings. Burrp launched its TV guide for Indian television just couple of weeks back. Burrp's TV guide is the most interactive tv listing guide among all. I found one bug in the Burrp TV guide though. Burrp TV guide reads your computer's local time rather then showing Indian Standard time. When I changed my computer's IP address to point to USA, Burrp TV guide showed me tv shows from that time slots. Burrp TV guide currently shows only 15 channels which includes Zoom, Sony, Zee Cinema, Star etc.
